Local attractions include fishing at Echo Lake, Williams Resevoir, Navajo Resevoir, as well as the Blanco and San Juan Rivers; rafting and tubing the San Juan and Animas Rivers; Horseback riding; golfing; shopping; dining; visit a museum; and of course the worlds largest Hot Springs. 
Pagosa hosts several events throughtout the summer
including: music festivals; arts and crafts; the Red Ryder Roundup
in July;  the County Fair each August; Colorfest Balloon Rally
every September;  The Parelli Savvy Confrence in September; as well
as the Pagosa Night Rodeos every Thursday night throughout
the summer. 
Wolf Creek Pass is an easy 40 mile drive where you can enjoy 
Treasure Falls in the summer months and skiing in the winter. 
Hiking, ATV, and bike riding are nearby. 
Ride the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge railroad while in Durango or take the short trip to Chama and enjoy a ride on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.
At Chimney Rock you can tour the Indian ruins or enjoy the full moon veiwing offered throughtout the summer.
Southwest Colorado offers some of the best hunting opportunities in the United States. Some local wildlife includes mule deer, bear, elk, and wild turkey.
